Short answer: There is no single price for a Mitzvah montage. The cost depends on length, how many photos and clips you send, and which add-ons you choose. What you are actually paying for
The Montage Maven is a post-production studio. We edit. We do not film or photograph anything.
You send digital photos and video files. We build a montage from those files, plus footage we source when a scene needs it.
So the price covers editing work, not a crew or a camera. That includes sorting your files, shaping the story, timing the cuts to music, and delivering a finished video for the screen at your party.
What drives the bar mitzvah montage cost
A few things move the number up or down. Most of them are in your control.
- Finished length. A three minute montage is a smaller job than an eight minute life story.
- How much material you send. Fifty photos is different from six hundred photos and a folder of phone clips.
- How organized the files are. Labeled folders save editing time. A single unsorted dump adds time.
- How many videos you want. Some families order a montage plus a separate entrance video for the reception.
- Add-ons. Extra drafts, song changes after the first draft, or an original song.
Number of files matters more than most families expect. Every photo has to be reviewed, cropped and placed. More files means more hours.
Add-ons that change the price
Add-ons are optional. You can skip all of them and still get a finished montage.
- Extra drafts. Three drafts are included, with as many notes as you like before each one. A fourth draft is 10% of the project total, with a $50 minimum.
- Song changes. Song choices lock once the first draft is done. Changing a song after that is $150 per song.
- An original song. Custom song composition, written for your child by a composer we work with, starts at $900.

How to keep the cost predictable
A little prep goes a long way. These steps keep the quote tight and the edit smooth.
- Pick a target length first. Party guests watch happily for a few minutes. Longer is not always better.
- Curate before you send. Choose the best shot from each moment instead of sending ten near-duplicates.
- Send digital files only. Anything old should already be saved as files on a drive or in the cloud.
- Name folders by year or theme. Baby years, camp, family trips, sports, school.
- Settle your songs early. Songs lock at the first draft, so choosing them up front avoids a change fee later.
Comparing quotes and booking
When you compare studios, compare the same thing. Ask about finished length, revision rounds, and what counts as an add-on.
Ask what happens if you send more photos than planned, and what a song change costs after the first draft.
